Arnold Schwarzenegger Underwent Emergency Surgery Impelreport
Arnold Schwarzenegger underwent emergency open-heart surgery and his condition is stable, TMZ reportedFriday. The 70-year-old Terminator actor, one of the most famous action stars in the world, former governor of California and father of five, had to undergo this operation after developing complications after a previous procedure in a hospital in Los Angeles to replace a catheter valve, the media reported.
His family, including his wife Maria Shriver , has not commented on it. In 1997, Schwarzenegger underwent elective heart surgery to replace an aortic valve. “I never felt sick or had symptoms at all, but I knew I had to take care of this condition sooner rather than later,” he said in a statement published at the time, according to the Los Angeles Times . “I told the doctors, ‘Let’s do it now, while I’m young and healthy.’ They agreed that this was the best thing.”
His representative told the newspapers that the procedure was to repair a “congenital condition that existed in his family,” saying that “steroids have nothing to do with this.” Schwarzenegger, former Mr. Universe, and former Mr. Olympia, acknowledged using steroids when he was a bodybuilder. Schwarzenegger did not tell his wife about his 1997 surgery, and simply pretended to go on vacation. In an interview with 60 Minutes in 2012, he said his doctor told him it was “crazy” when he told her that he planned to keep everything secret from his wife.
“He said, ‘Your wife is pregnant, what do you mean you’re not going to tell her?'” He said. “I told him, ‘This is the plan, they’ll do a heart surgery, you do it quietly, nobody knows about it, we do it at six in the morning, four days later I’m out of here and I’m going to Mexico and I will tell Maria that I am there, a little busy and on vacation, when I return I will be tanned and nobody will know. ”
