Bella Thorne Revealed Her Story Of Sexual Abuse Impelreport
Earlier this year, the former Disney Channel star revealed that she suffered sexual abuse until she was 14 years old. Now, in a new interview with Under The Influence, Thorne explained that it was not easy to make his confession.
“I’ve been thinking about saying it for a long time, it was just very sad,” Thorne recalled. After confirming her case of abuse on social media, the actress remembered thinking, “‘Oh, m ** RDA, do I erase it?’, And then I thought, ‘No, Bella, let her stay there.’ I did not say anything about that for a while. ”
Thorne, 20, also consulted with his manager about whether to erase the details of the Internet. “He said, ‘Is it a bad thing?’ Bella, there’s nothing wrong with this, this is fine, you’re no less a person because this has happened to you, ‘” he shared. “It was one of the first times someone told me that after it happened and that really meant the world to me.”
The star of The Midnight Sun made public his support for the movements Time’s Up and Me Too, but clarified that their interactions on the set never went beyond “coquetry.” From Bella’s perspective, “People have flirted with me, I’m not surprised, or it hits or offends … I’ve never, fortunately, been in those situations, but I’ve been in situations like this all my life.”
And he continued, “I know that most of the time there is light flirting with directors or writers, you work 19 hours a day on the set with these people, it’s very easy to confuse something they say with something else, maybe they wanted to say that. I’m fortunate enough not to have been in any situation in Hollywood that was bad enough to say, ‘Oh, m ** RDA, this is scary, what am I going to get out of here?’ ” Thorne also spoke in a somewhat negative way of her time on Disney Channel and said the family chain threatened to terminate her contract due to a swimsuit photo that she published.
Bella alleged, “They told me, ‘You’re lucky Bella has so many fans that we can not afford to fire her right now, but if she does one more thing we’ll do it.'” Even after Shake It Up ended in 2013, Thorne said casting directors refused to offer auditions. She explained, “I was on good terms with those casting directors, so I was surprised, ‘Wao, what’s wrong? Just because I was on the Disney Channel ?”
