Guardians of the Tomb 2018 TV Show Series Reviews Impelreport
Guardians of the Tomb 2018 TV Show Series Reviews Impelreport. Director Kimble Rendall wasn’t expecting ecstatic critical reviews when his $26 million Australian-made feature movie Guardians of the Tomb opened – without fanfare or red carpet – on Thursday. Just as well – he certainly didn’t receive them. “That doesn’t worry me,” says Rendall. “We’ll get a good reaction from the fan sites. Our main thing is: will our global audience enjoy it?”
By global audience, Rendall is talking about the Chinese box office – an annual market valued at $US8.6 billion ($7.7 billion) in 2017, up an impressive $US2 billion on 2016. The Chinese box office is already larger than India’s Bollywood-fed equivalent, and is second only to the lucrative American cinema market (industry pundits predict it will overtake the US by 2020).
Such stunning growth has drawn the attention of film-makers from around the world. And while Rendall’s latest feature isn’t on the same scale as big budget, Hollywood-backed movies like Matt Damon’s 2016 The Great Wall, it is the latest example illustrating the trend of foreign productions looking to cash in on China’s vast and fast-growing cinema market.
