Phantom Thread 2017 Movie Trailer Review Poster Impelreport
In mid-June, news shook the world of cinema: Daniel Day-Lewis, one of the best actors of today, announced his retirement. At that time it was also known that the last movie that would star would be Phantom Thread, a film directed by the filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson. On Monday, the Focus Features studio released the trailer for the long-awaited movie.
Phantom Thread places Day-Lewis as Reynolds Woodcock, a leading London fashion designer during the 1950s, in charge of dressing some of the most important personalities in the post-war world. In that context, Woodcock falls in love with a young woman who soon becomes his muse, but then becomes a love that could end up cracking a life comfortably made.
The film not only looks forward to being the last work of Day-Lewis but because it represents the return to the cinema of Paul Thomas Anderson, one of the most outstanding directors currently offered by the American industry. Day-Lewis and Anderson already worked together on Bloody Oil ( There will be blood, 2007).
The Day-Lewis farewell of the cinema with Phantom Thread is scheduled for December 25, 2017.
