Unusual Exercise of US & South Korea with 3 Aircraft Carriers
In an unusual demonstration of naval force to North Korea, USA and South Korea have begun military exercises this Saturday.
“The exercise is intended to improve deterrence against North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats and show our ability to stop any act of provocation,” said a spokesman for the South Korean Defense Ministry.
These maneuvers, which will last for four days, are unusual because it is the first exercise in a decade that involves three US aircraft carriers: Ronald Reagan, Nimitz and Theodore Roosevelt.
According to the Ministry of Defense of South Korea, these naval exercises are carried out in the western Pacific Ocean with the participation of seven South Korean vessels, including three destroyers.
The United States Navy has detailed that the American vessels will perform aerial exercises, surveillance at sea, defensive aerial combat training and other training operations.
This type of military simulations are exactly the provocative activities that Pyongyang has warned, considering them a threat against them and has repeatedly demanded the cessation of such “provocations”.
These exercises come after the visits made this week by US President Donald Trump to the regional countries, in which he tried to promote anti-Korean positions and hint at the imminent threat that, in his opinion, represents Pyongyang.
Last Wednesday, the North Korean state newspaper Rodong Sinmun , considered that the Trump tour to the Asian countries would provoke a nuclear war . “Trump has flown to South Korea in search of reinforcing his military threats against us and intends to ignite the fuse of a nuclear war,” the report said.
North Korea, already a nuclear nation, emphasizes that these verbal attacks by Washington and its military activities in the region are reasons why Pyongyang can not stop its nuclear and missile program, as it feels threatened by a nuclear power. Read More Exclusive News at impelreport.
